On the slopes of the Conero there is the wonderful rocky beach of the Passetto, reachable by a long panoramic staircase. There are over 100 caves built by local fishermen who dug into the rock for tens of meters between the late 1800s and early 1900s. A special place, where it began to live as in a parallel world: here the fishermen met to go to sea and their families followed them. With the passage of time, a real community was created that lived and worked with the sea. The caves are still alive, animated by the heirs of those fishermen.
